Bodhi Tree is the schools educational team at the London Buddhist Centre in Bethnal Green, East London. We are all longstanding Buddhists and experienced teachers who enjoy working (and playing) with children, young people and adults.
Our main teachers are ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order as well as being qualified teachers.
We also teach secular mindfulness in schools as Breathing Space in Schools. See our mindfulness website for more information about mindfulness tasters, insets and training for both children and staff.
London Buddhist Centre
The London Buddhist Centre is part of the Triratna Buddhist Community which is a worldwide movement of people who try to engage with the Buddha’s teachings in the conditions of the modern world. Neither monastic nor lay, we are simply Buddhists, at varying stages of commitment and understanding, doing our best to live inspired and guided by the teachings of the Buddha.
See https://www.lbc.org.uk/ to find out more about what we do: Buddhism, meditation and yoga in courses, classes, festivals and retreats.
Triratna is a Sanskrit term meaning ‘Three Jewels’: the Buddha, Dharma (his teachings) and Sangha (the community of all those who follow the teachings). The founder of the Triratna Buddhist Community and Order, Sangharakshita, considers the defining act of a Buddhist to be the commitment to follow, practise and realise these Three Jewels.
